Seeking a Full-Time Case Manager

Position based in Port Hadlock, Washington. 

 

Mission: To strengthen community through housing, advocacy, and human services supporting social and economic independence.  

 

Position Summary: Bayside Housing & Services (BHS) Case Managers are responsible for providing comprehensive case management and supportive services. This role focuses on assisting formerly homeless individuals to stabilize in permanent housing and includes service planning, direct program participant support, case notation, crisis intervention, informal counseling, coordination of community-building activities and collaboration with other departments to meet program participant needs

Pay Range: $22.00 - $30.00 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Case Management & Support: 

  • Build effective relationships with program participants and tenants; provide information, referrals, and guidance. 

  • Assess program participants’ and tenants' current functioning levels and social service needs. 

  • Offer case management to program participants and tenants on BHS’s client list and wait list. 

  • Coordinate with local agencies to deliver services tailored to BHS clients. 

  • Work collaboratively with property management and Supportive Services staff to enhance program participant and tenant stability. 

  • Uphold professional standards and adhere to HIPPA and other confidentiality regulations and BHS’s Code of Ethics and Conduct. 

  • Work with Peer Support Specialists to enhance service delivery and support for program participants and tenants.

Community Engagement & Relationship Building: 

  • Organize activities in collaboration with BHS staff, program participants and tenants, and with other community organizations and volunteers. 

  • Encourage program participant and tenant participation in community-building activities. 

  • Support cultural diversity within the community. 

 

Administrative Responsibilities: 

  • Attend staff meetings and participate in planning sessions. 

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of interactions with tenants and agencies. 

  • Assist in preparing reports, spreadsheets, and other administrative tasks related to housing and social service projects.

Additional Duties: 

  • Evaluate program referrals and participate in interviews for program participant and tenant intake and exit. 

  • Develop and monitor program participant and tenant program plans. 

  • Assist program participants and tenants with housing and service applications. 

  • Lead Peer Support Specialist engagement with program participants and tenants and provide reports on progress.

Required Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, or an Associate degree with 3 years of experience. 

  • Minimum of two years' experience working with a diverse population. 

​

Desired Qualifications: 

  • CPR/First Aid certification. 

  • Background in case management or resident advocacy. 

  • Familiarity with referral resources and confidentiality protocols. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Access to transportation and flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work. 

  • Must pass criminal background checks and drug screening. 

  • Must live in Jefferson County, and/or make plans to move to Jefferson County within 90 days of employment. 

  • Access to a reliable vehicle that can travel in various weather conditions. 

  • Availability for on-call duties as required. 

  • Experienced with data entry and maintenance in HMIS: Homeless Management Information System.

Seeking a Full-Time Shelter Host

Position based in Port Townsend, Washington. 

 

Mission: To strengthen community through housing, advocacy, and human services supporting social and economic independence.  

 

Position Summary: 
The Shelter Host at Bayside Housing & Services is responsible for providing oversight of the shelter and assisting with meals, guest interactions, set-up, and clean-up. This role ensures the health and safety of unhoused adults in need of transitional shelter by adhering to agency rules and regulations and maintaining the cleanliness of the shelter. 

Pay Range: $19.00 - $22.00 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Guest Services: 

  • Welcome and record attendance for participants; monitor participant movement. 

  • Screen and intake individuals requesting shelter services. 

  • Ensure new guests understand program requirements, rules, and regulations. 

  • Provide assistance and guidance to shelter clients regarding rules and regulations, such as smoke breaks, meals, and cleaning tasks. 

  • Report infractions and address conflicts among participants, de-escalating potentially violent situations. 

 

Facility Oversight: 

  • Oversee clients performing chores, prompting them to clean sleeping areas, take out garbage, and help clean facility restrooms and other areas. 

  • Monitor participant activities and food distribution. 

  • Ensure logbook and lock box are secured when not in use. 

  • Report repair needs and other concerns to the supervisor promptly. 

  • Monitor grounds to prevent loitering and ensure participants adhere to rules, especially related to unsafe behaviors. 

  • Enforce shelter rules as mutually agreed upon by guests/clients at intake. 

 

Administrative Duties: 

  • Enter information into the logbook and privately discuss issues and updates with other shift monitors. 

  • Complete required training and maintain compliance with health and safety standards. 

  • Food Handlers card required 

 

Required Education & Experience: 

  • High school diploma or GED. 

  • Prior experience with shelter environments, substance abuse, mental health disorders, or working with individuals in crisis or homeless programs preferred. 

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Successful completion of a criminal background check required. 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • CPR/First Aid certification. 

  • Training in First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Trauma-Informed Care, Managing Difficult Clients, and De-escalation. 

  • Familiarity with referral resources and confidentiality protocols. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Access to transportation and flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work. 

  • Must live in Jefferson County or make plans to move to Jefferson County. 

  • Access to a reliable vehicle that can travel in various weather conditions. 

  • Experience with data entry and maintenance in HMIS: Homeless Management Information System. 

  • Strong attendance and punctuality. 

  • Commitment to safety and security procedures. 

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

 

Physical Activities and Requirements: 

  • Regularly required to use hands, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. 

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 

 

Working Conditions: 

  • Indoor work environment with moderate noise levels. 

  • May be exposed to infection, germs, contagious diseases, blood, body fluids, or potentially contaminated materials. 

  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided/available. 

  • Weekend and overnight shifts required. 

  • Availability for on-call duties as required.
