Planned Giving

To ensure Bayside Housing & Services can continue to help people experiencing homelessness in the decades to come, we have established the Carolyn and Chris Eagan Legacy Society, our planned giving program. By including Bayside in your estate plans, you are helping Bayside offer future generations of Jefferson County residents the housing, services, and support they need. Legacy gifts help Bayside plan for the long term and create lasting change in our community.

You don’t have to be wealthy to make a legacy gift

 

The most meaningful legacy commitments have come from individuals who, despite their limited means, have supported Bayside’s mission for many years. A gift of any size can make a lasting difference.

 

Two simple ways to leave a legacy

 

1. Include Bayside Housing & Services in your living will or trust.

2. Name Bayside Housing & Services as a beneficiary of a retirement account, life insurance policy, and/or real estate.

 

Sample Bequest Language

 

• Specific Dollar Amount: “I give the sum of $_____ to Bayside Housing & Services, a nonprofit organization located at 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock, Washington, tax ID 47-1798297, to use for its general purposes.”

• Percentage of Estate: “I give _____% of my estate to Bayside Housing & Services, a nonprofit organization located at 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock, Washington, tax ID 47-1798297, to use for its general purposes.”

• Residuary Bequest: “I give the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to Bayside Housing & Services, a nonprofit organization located at 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock, Washington, tax ID 47-1798297, to use for its general purposes.”

• Specific Asset: (I give [describe asset, e.g., real estate at X address] to Bayside Housing & Services, a nonprofit organization located at 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock, Washington, tax ID 47-1798297, to use for its general purposes.”

 

Giving from Investment Accounts

 

• Traditional IRAs and qualifying 401(k) or 403(b) Plans: Work with your broker or simply complete standard plan paperwork naming BAYSIDE HOUSING & SERVICES (Tax ID 47-1798297) as a primary or contingent beneficiary for all or a percentage of your IRA, 401(k) or 403(b) plan benefit.

• Life Insurance Policies: Complete a standard beneficiary designation form provided by your insurance company and name Bayside Housing & Services (Tax ID 47-1798297) as a beneficiary for all or a percentage of the benefit amount.

• Charitable Trusts & Annuities: Please consult your attorney.

• Bank or Brokerage Accounts: Name Bayside Housing & Services (Tax ID 47-1798297) as a "Payable on Death" (POD) or "Transfer on Death" (TOD) beneficiary of your bank or brokerage account(s).
